Description
There is also a collection of newsletters of the American Occupational Therapy Association advertising registration for the congress. These range in date from January 1962 to July 1962.
A collection of associated material including various postcards; banquet menus; invitation cards; correspondence relating to transport arrangements between Philadelphia and Toronto; tourist information leaflets and various receipts all belonging to Miss Freda Sampson is included.
Miss Sampson attended a post-congress study course entitled "Rehabilitation of the Injured Workman". There are papers associated with this including correspondence relating to her registration on the course; newsletter; brochure and patient handbook published by The Workmen's Compensation Board of Ontario; a postcard showing an aerial view of the Workmen's Compensation Board Hospital and Rehabilitation Centre; pamphlet entitled "A summary, Workmen's Compensation Act, Ontario"; programme for the course;a course attendance certificate for Miss Freda Sampson; hand-written notes; a hand-written list of course attendees and a booklet with an enclosed sample of "Celastic" a plastic impregnated material used to make cuffs to cover amputations with separate typed instructions on method.
There is also a boxed set of course notes for the 6 study courses that followed on from the congress. These include: rehabilitation of the injured workman; transitional programs in psychiatric occupational therapy; dynamic living for the long term patient; approaches to independent living; work adjustment as a function of occupational therapy and approaches to the treatment of patients with neuromuscular dysfunction.
