Biographical note
Project Summary:Boundary Condition links the psychological state in which a person perceives they are being consumed by the space around them, to that of an insect being camouflaged against their leafy milieu. Collaborative research with entomologists at Natural History Museum will examine praying mantis camouflage, and the surrealists' iconographic portrayal of the insect. Collaboration at central Saint martins College will entail creating diorama installations examining the way creatures are placed within artificially constructed habitats, to be exhibited in the College's Window Gallery. The project questions spatial perception and self-identity, and how we relate to the space around us.
