Photograph of archaeological remains of the Temple of Aesculapius, underneath the Convent of San Bartolomeo, Rome, Italy, taken in 1929. Received by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum from Captain Johnston-Saint on 28 June 1929. Captain Johnston-Saint was a Wellcome Historical Medical Museum employee who travelled extensively in Europe, the Middle East and India purchasing items for the museum.
