M0001645: Engraving of a blood transfusion from a dog (canine) to a patient (human), circa 1692

Previous title, replaced May 2020: Transfering blood of a dog into a patient, circa 1692.

Reproduction of an engraving depicting a patient having his blood let from his right arm, while the blood of a dog is transfused into his left arm (xenotransfusion). Underneath the image is a diagram of the instruments used for the blood transfusion. The original engravings are from page 28 in Lamzweerde, Johannes Baptista (fl. 1657-1686) Appendix... ad amramentarium chirurgicum, Leyden: Boutesteyn, 1692.
