    Medicine. LETTERS PATENT to Lewis Jacob Jordan, of Berner Street, in the County of Middlesex, Gentleman, for the Invention of “ A Medicine for the Cure of Venereal Affections.” Sealed the 20th March 1857, and dated the 9th October 1856. PROVISIONAL SPECIFICATION left by the said Lewis Jacob Jordan at the Office of the Commissioners of Patents, with his Petition, on the 9th October 1856. I, Lewis Jacob Jordan, of Berner Street, in the County of Middlesex, 5 Gentleman, do hereby declare the nature of the said Invention for “A Medicine for the Cure of Venereal Affections,” to be as follows :— This Invention relates to a certain combination or to certain combinations of the following ingredients or materials, as a medicine for the cure of gonorrhoea, gleets, and all venereal affections and urethral discharges. To 10 prepare this medicine I use sulphate of zinc, nitrate of potash, tragacanth ■ - ‘‘ ' powder, powdered henbane, tartarate of potash, bicarbonate of soda, and sugar, which I combine and use in certain proportions according to the stage or character of the disease. SPECIFICATION in pursuance of the conditions of the Letters Patent, filed 15 by the said Lewis Jacob Jordan in the Great Seal Patent Office on the 9th April 1857. TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, I, Lewis Jacob Jordan, of Berner Street, in the County of Middlesex, Gentleman, send greeting.
