Description
Correspondence and papers relating to enquiries and contacts from journalists and media researchers about articles they are writing or television or radio programmes, or films they are making on doctors, especially GPs. Covers a wide range of issues including, doctor patient relationships, GP attitudes and communication with patients, doctors remuneration, home visits, private GP services, medical errors, negligence and legal accountability of doctors, medical injury, women patients requesting women doctors, doctors treatment of young women, confidentiality, overseas doctors, drug company marketing to GPs, doctors receptionists, bogus doctors, patients rights re changing a GP, family planning clinics, complaints procedures, delayed and mis-diagnosis, locums, treatment without consent, waiting times, complaints against specific doctors, getting second opinions, GPs and the elderly, doctors with addiction problems or psychiatric problems, etc.
Mainly memoranda and notes on questions received, some letters from national and local television and radio companies (e.g. Thames TV, BBC, Granada TV), journals, magazines, and national and local newspapers, newspaper and magazine articles.
