Description
Photograph of a print publication of an illustration titled "Lavoisier in his laboratory." Antoine-Laurent de Lavoisier (26 August 1743 – 8 May 1794) was a French chemist and is most noted for his discovery of the role oxygen plays in combustion. He recognized and named oxygen in 1778 and hydrogen in 1783.
