Description

Black and white reproduction of a photograph of a dried calabash vessel containing a concentrated extract of "quina" or cinchona. The item was lent by the Faculty of Pharmacy, University of Paris, and exhibited in Malaria section of the international celebration and exhibition : three hundredth anniversary of the first recognized use of cinchona by Europeans, 1630-1930, hosted by the Wellcome Historical Medical Museum in 1930. The photograph or specimen is listed as no. 1054 in the souvenir catalogue.
